Relation between points and class consciousness for delivery app workers

Abstract

The article makes an analysis of collective spaces of rest and waiting for delivery app workers, known as points, observing whether there is a construction of class consciousness in the category. For this, the routines of delivery workers in these places were analyzed through interviews, news, and reflections of the field research that originated the report "Working conditions, rights and social dialogue for workers in the delivery sector by apps in Brasília and Recife”, organized by Central Única dos Trabalhadores (CUT), which investigated app couriers in the Federal District, during the first half of 2021. Through a lukacsian approach and a descriptive analysis of the stoppages known as “Breque dos Apps”, it was possible to identify the relevance of these points for the mobilization and for the construction of class consciousness among delivery app workers.
