The article aims, through bibliographical and exploratory research, to discuss the domestic work of girls from the countryside taken to large cities as “domestic children” as a way of modern concealment of slave labor. It is noteworthy that in addition to the working conditions that these girls perform, late rescue, in adulthood, reinforces the condition of having “interrupted lives”. These two aspects – working conditions and late rescue – separately and jointly violate human dignity based on its concept as “the right not to be humiliated”.
