Abstract

This article aims to deal with the theme of contemporary Slave Labor, analyzing its evolution and setback in the light of labor protection, which its practices still hang to this day even after more than one hundred and thirty years have elapsed since the declaration of the abolition of slavery. With this, a survey is carried out on the concept and characterization of work analogous to slavery. Then, a historical survey of the recognition of this practice in Brazil and the creation of protectionist legislation is carried out, as well as the means of combat and inspection. Finally, a social analysis is established, to provoke reflections on combat and prevention practices, given the need to strengthen and expand preventive measures, to increase development policies in social equity, in order to eliminate structural problems.
