The chosen activity for the ergonomic analysis was the external painting carried out on building facades, due to the work at height. The prevention and reduction of ergonomic risk can be achieved by raising awareness among construction companies, but also by applying management measures and diagnosing risk situations in the workplace. The present work used as an ergonomic analysis method, the on-site visit and interview with the workers. Data collection took place in a vertical building located in the city of Rio Grande / RS. This research has as general objective to analyze the risk factors of biomechanical overload in the external painting activity in building facades. The demand analysis showed the points that require attention and measures different from the equipment. The proposals for improvements and risk reduction will allow a better quality of life for the worker, as well as a better understanding of the importance of Ergonomics for the construction sector.
