This study reflected on the phenomenon of the decomposition of labor protection, a process articulating the trends of unemployment, informality and precariousness, which manifest themselves in different ways in the white racial group and in the non-white racial group – especially blacks and browns –, according to statistics on the topic; which results in different intensities and forms of labor indignity. Through a bibliographic review of selected authors, the concepts related to salaried employment, informality, unemployment and precariousness were delimited, seeking to articulate the axis unemployment, informality and formality; and later the duality formality and precariousness of formality. Based on this conceptual basis, the study turned to the narrative of the historical conditions of non-white groups and their subordinated assimilation to the Brazilian society, especially the group formed by blacks and browns; which enabled the debate on the differentiated labor vulnerability of non-white groups, through the discussion of the existence of an objective structure of racial cleavage in the labor field, reflected in the statistical data presented. In the end, we sought to identify a preferential occupation in the process of decomposition of labor protection by the non-white racial group, with an indication of the existence of a specific demand for labor regulation in the face of racism.
